G.A.R.S. Theme Coordination
The G.A.R.S. general assembly 2007 decided to introduce a new feature within G.A.R.S. As research themes
in air transport are plentiful, but G.A.R.S.' management capacities are limited, the new function of theme coordinator
has been created.
What is a theme coordinator?
The theme coordinator should take over responsibility for one theme, which is not yet covered by G.A.R.S. workshops
or G.A.R.S. publications. Particularly, the theme coordinator should promote the subject, foster discussions, prepare
publications or organise workshops.
The following themes were suggested:
§ Airport regulation
§ Economics of low cost long haul services
§ The future role of business jets in air transport
§ Corporate risks in aviation
§ Management of ATC-services
§ Aviation law and economics
§ The future of satellite airports
§ Intermodal traffic.
If you want to take over responsibility for one of these themes or if you want to suggest another theme that you think would fit
into the G.A.R.S. community, please contact
For the
theme "External benefits and costs of air transportation", G.A.R.S. designated
(Institute of Transport Economics,
University of Münster) as Theme
Coordinator. Please contact Robert in case you want to contribute to this area.
